Stone columns adorn the Ionic, tetrastyle facade of Gleaners Temple at corner of Woodward and Palmer, with other businesses along the street. The Ancient Order of Gleaners was originally an agricultural organization. The name was changed to Gleaner Life Insurance Society in 1931. Recorded in glass negative ledger: "LD/Streets-Woodward."
