Bascule bridge over Rouge River
Description:
Large group of men and boys on drawbridge. Floating logs with ice forming, snow visible on logs and bank. Printed on label on mat back: "Original bascule bridge at Jefferson Ave. crossing of Rouge River, built about 1882. Replaced by a swing bridge in the early 90's. This original photograph hung in a saloon adjacent to bridge in River Rouge."
