Copeland affectionately views his child, the first practical electric automatic refrigeration unit ever built. It was installed in the home of Joseph T. Schlacks, well known Detroit capitalist, in February, 1918, and was still giving perfect service when it was recently (1931) removed to be replaced with a new and larger unit.
