Handwritten on back: "Dear Hazel, We don't like the looks of your staying out there a week after school is out, if you did not intend coming right after the picnic you should have come last week after being there all winter. It isn't always wise to accept every bargain offered. Mr. Krohn had an operation Tues he is very sick do not know if he will live or not he waited too long it had burst. I was up twice yesterday and the day before all night last night so you see we reached you at home this week. Want to get most of the corn planted today. There is lots to do here. Ma."
