Bats: both. Throws: right. Won 7 and lost 3 in 29 games for the 1949 Yankees. With the St. Louis Browns in 1948, Fred won 12 and dropped 21. Went to New York in a big deal at close of 1948 campaign. Started in organized baseball in 1939. Had trial with Browns in 1943, then spent 2 years in service. Back in baseball with Toledo, 1946. To Browns, end of season.
