Height: 6-4. Weight: 215. Bats: left. Throws: left. Won 16 and lost 11 in 1949. Wounded in action, while in the army, by a shell explosion. Lou's left leg was badly shattered, and he still has to wear a brace. Was a star at Presbyterian College, both at first base and on the mound. His first year in the majors was 1948.
