Inscription reads: "Detroit Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution planted these 13 trees emblematic of the 13 original colonies or states, year of 1932 in commemoration of the bicentennial anniversary of the birth of George Washington. These walnut trees are from trees planted by him at Mount Vernon."
