On Washington Boulevard and Michigan Avenue, was unveiled in 1908 by the Michigan Society of United States Daughters of 1812, in commemoration of his distinguished services at the Battle of Plattsburgh, September 11, 1814. General Alexander Macomb was also the first governor of Michigan." Handwritten on back: "Dear Aunt & Cousin, You can expect to see us very soon after you receive this card. G & CJ are well.
