Two and a half-story brick building at 1316 E. Congress, parcel 62, in the area bounded by Hastings/Dequindre/Larned/Congress, site 3-S-1. Stone foundation; pediment-style gable. Looks like converted church; windows boarded over, including two pointed ones, and garage-style door added. Signs on neighboring auto repair shop read "Garage, Hill's, auto collision, general repairs, bumping, painting, welding, Hill's super serv[ice] garage." Cars parked on street and in alley. White deposit splashed across front. Handwritten on front: "Par. 62, 1316 E. Congress, 2 s.b. used for storage, 9-28-51."

Part of a collection that contains condemnation files, photographs, blueprints and descriptions of slum clearance housing parcels for the City of Detroit. Of particular note are areas which included the neighborhoods known as Paradise Valley, Black Bottom, Corktown and the Jeffries Housing Project.
