This eight spindle lathe, type "D" Mult-Au-Matic, which rough and semi-finishes the cylinder bore and rough turns various diameters on the outside diameter weighs 48,000 pounds and cost $50,000. In order to install this machine it was necessary to set it into a pit to secure clearance for the heighth [sic]." Handwritten on back: "Packard. Marine engine. ACWP - Machine tools."
