Sign on bridge reads: "Notice, traction engines must not cross this bridge without written permit from District Engineer, Auckland, by order." The expedition, which left from Detroit, Michigan, was a demonstration of Hupmobile efficiency throughout the U.S., Hawaii, the Fiji Islands and New Zealand. Handwritten on back: "New Zealand. Tours--Hupmobile Round the World Tour, 1910."
