Front view of a man operating a Sargent Clertrac Model A hydraulic snowplow at Wolf Creek Pass in the Colorado Rockies. The snowplows were manufactured by the Maine Steel Products Co. in South Portland, Maine. Printed on front: "View #8. Plowing off the last layer. You see the same V that floated on 25' of snow in the first cut, but now it is scraping the ice -- right down to the road surface -- and the same wings used to plane off the top of the bank when adjusted in a flat position, are now sloped steeply to convey the snow from the road level up over the banks. Complete adaptability. Note also the position of the wing push arm. It is hydraulically controlled from the cab so that it supports the wing out against the snow at all heights without manual adjustment."
