Man operating a Sargent snowplow
Description:
Rear view of a man operating a Sargent Clertrac Model A hydraulic snowplow at Wolf Creek Pass in the Colorado Rockies. The snowplows were manufactured by the Maine Steel Products Co. in South Portland, Maine. Printed on front: "View #3. Widening out on top of 15' of snow. Each time you peel off a layer you must wing back your side banks and widen out to make room for the snow from the next cut. Without the long and infinitely adjustable Sargent Wing, your banks would soon become too high to handle. This wing can be lifted many feet above the frame of the plow. That is why it can handle much higher side bans than any other plow."
