View of Mr. Shultz posing in a 1900 Columbia Mark VIII car. Handwritten on front: "1900 Columbia Mark VIII." Stamped on front: "From Henry Cave Hartford Automobile Historical Collection." Handwritten on back: "Shultz. Supt. Riker Motor Vehicle Co., later asst. to Riker with Locomobile. The first car to have vertical motor in front & shaft drive made in U.S. Ignition governor (1st). Made non-stop 500 mile best in 1899 (1st). Designed in 1898, about 200 made."
