American Motors has announced details of the 1969 AMX which are expected to make the two-place sports coupe even more attractive to the performance minded driver. New standard equipment features are a 140 m.p.h. speedometer and a large face 0-8,000 r.p.m. tachometer. Leather seat trim is a new option in the AMX this year. New convenience items are featured in the 1969 AMX, including a passenger 'grab' handle above the glove box and a between-the-seats convenience tray. The AMX has a 290 cubic inch, four-barrel engine V-8 as standard with 343 and 390 cubic inch, four-barrel V-8's optional. The '69 American Motors cars go on sale Tuesday, October 1."
