The picture was taken during recent maneuvers staged in the Detroit area, with soldiers from Fort Wayne manning the machines. The government has announced that the new car is being used by U.S. fighting forces in many war zones. The controls of the new Army transportation unit, for land operation, are identical to the quarter-ton four-wheel drive reconnaissance car, and no steering changeover is required from land to water operation.
