Description:
View of an unidentified man, holding a cap, overcoat and cigar, during the 1909 annual excursion for orphans sponsored by the Orphan's Automobile Day Committee of New York. Medals, ribbons and tags are pinned to his jacket. Approximately 1,800 children were taken on a trip to the Dreamland amusement park at Coney Island. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, telephones 3472-3473 Columbus, 1931 Broadway, New York." Handwritten on back: "Tours--New York Orphans Day outing, 1909."
