Automobile Trade Ass'n checking station" flag in background. The one-gallon efficiency contest was sponsored by the New York Automobile Trade Association as part of its second annual automobile carnival. Stamped on back: "Spooner and Wells, 1931 Broadway, New York, duplicates any time, enlargements all sizes, tel. 3472-3473 Col., credit appreciated." Handwritten on back: "Tours--New York Economy Contest, 1909."
