I'm at home on a visit & have found Uncle Jim Phip. very low. He is a little better & maybe he will get well but he had a growth in his stomach. The Dr. used an instrument & broke it. He was starving to death. Could not swallow even a little water, but now he can swallow a cup full. I have been staying & taking care of him [undecipherable]. He is better tonight. Will write you a letter soon. Uncle Sid is in hospital. I suppose you know it. Write me a letter. Love to all, Edith Lewis." Card is postmarked October 10, 1912.
