View of the S.S. Kresge Administration Building, located across from Cass Park and designed by Albert Kahn. Automobiles in street. Label on back: "Tucked away on Second Blvd., between Temple and Ledyard, is one of Detroit's most notable -- and frequently overlooked -- office buildings, the Kresge Building (above). Designed by famed architect Albert Kahn in the style of Federal buildings in Washington, the structure houses the main offices of the S.S. Kresge Co. The majestic, four-story marble and stone building was constructed in 1929-30. Hailed as one of the finest examples of American office buildings, it was awarded a Medal of Honor in 1930 by the Detroit chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Beauty and efficiency of operation were stressed in the design." Stamped on back: "Dec 1, 1946."
