It was a true mansion in Detroit's golden era of mansions when E. Jefferson was one of the city's finest residential areas. it lived through the section's 'Bohemian' period when artists and writers starved in cluttered apartments in the fine old homes. Now it makes way for a quarter-million dollar extension of Alexander Blain Hospital, at right." Stamped on back: "Detroit Free Press photo, Jul 30, 1959."
