Louis Mendelssohn mansion, Indian Village
View of the Louis Mendelssohn mansion, located at 8415 E. Jefferson in the Indian Village neighborhood. Three-story, brick and stone Chateauesque-style house was built in 1910 by Chittenden & Karting. Label on back: "8415 E. Jefferson (1781) Louis Mendelssohn. The Riveria [sic] Market now stands on the site of the Louis Mendlesohn [sic] residence built in 1910 by Chittenden & Karting. Mendlesohn [sic] was a well-known financier, an architect and treasurer of Fisher Body. He designed Frank P. Book's residence at 2939 Iroquois. For many years, the Mendlesohn [sic] home was used as the studios of WXYZ radio. It was here that many of the famed radio shows such as The Lone Ranger, The Green Hornet and Sgt.
