Border of eagle and American flags surround the text "President, Abraham Lincoln. Vice-President, Hannibal Hamlin." Handwritten "next" over the words President and Vice-President. Image of young Lincoln chopping wood outside of log cabin. Quote from Lincoln printed on front: "Constitution and the Union, harmony and prosperity to all -- Lincoln." Printed on lower left corner: "S. Raynor, envelope manufacturer, New York." Handwritten on front: "Hon. Abraham Lincoln, Springfield, Ill. Answered." Envelope has stamp affixed and is postmarked New York, November 12.
