This illustration shows the residence of Daniel Rose on his 48 acre farm on section 5 of Montrose township. Mr. Rose was born in Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, September 4th, 1862. His father, R.K. Rose, was born in Allighaney [sic] County, New York, January 16th, 1832. His mother's maiden name was Jane Pridgeon and she was born in Lincolnshire, England, September 12, 1837. When Daniel was six years of age his parents moved to Vienna township, Genesee County, Mich., where they still reside and where he was reared. February 22nd, 1886, he was united in marriage to Anna Mundy. She was born in Clayton township, Genesee County, Michigan, April 2nd, 1869. Her father, Thomas Mundy, was born in England, November 16th, 1838. Her mother, whose maiden name was Mary Jane Darling, was born in Lockport, New York, in 1842. Mr. Mundy still resides in Clayton township but Mrs. Mundy's death occured [sic] Nevember [sic] 2nd, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Rose are parents of three children, two of whom are living, they are Viola Irma, born in Clayton township, Genesee County, Michigan, November 19th, 1886; Ethel Mae, born in Clayton township, April 12th, 1889 and Lottie Jane, born in Vienna township, Genesee County, Michigan, December 30th, 1892. Ethel Mae died June 2nd, 1893. Mr. Rose is a very successful contractor and builder and enjoys a profitable business. He and his family enjoy the esteem of all who know them."
