View of students and teachers posing outside the schoolhouse in Montrose, Michigan. Brick building has arched entrance and cupola. Printed on front: "No. 10." Label on back: "School house. This building is the Montrose village school building and was erected in 1898. It is a solid brick, one story building 40 x 70 feet, with a vestibule 7 x 24 feet and is divided into two rooms 30 x 40 feet, separated from each other by a hall 10 x 40 feet, there is also a large cloak room opening out of each of the rooms. The brick [sic] were manufactured by Flynn & Smith on section 17 of Montrose township."
