Flint River beach at McKenzie's Grove, Montrose, Michigan
View of men, women and children posing in boats on the Flint River beach at McKenzie's Grove in Montrose, Michigan. Printed on front: "No. 5." Label on back: "River Beach at McKenzie's Grove. This is a view of one of which there are many, on the beautiful Flint River. It is a portion of the beach east of the picnic grove belonging to George McKenzie Sr. The children and others seen in the picture were of a party in attendance at one of the many picnics held in this beautiful grove. The view was taken from the west bank of the river and is looking north or down stream. It will be noticed that the river, at this point has a hard, gravely beach free from mud or weeds which makes it a very desirable spot for holding picnics, and that the water is so clear that the children and boats are reflected upon its surface as in a mirror."
