Description
View of workers with bells and hoist for the Metropolitan Life Tower in New York. A 30 horsepower Kissel Kar runabout was initially driven to this location as part of a publicity stunt, for the purpose of hoisting it to the top. Officials of the Metropolitan, however, halted the stunt just before it could take place. The car was later hoisted to the top of the new Fifth Avenue Building. Onlookers in foreground. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, telephones 3472-3473 Columbus, 1931 Broadway, New York."
