Streamlined automobile
Grab
Description
Artist's depiction of a streamlined car. Printed on front: "A car fully stream-lined from rounded nose to rear, giving 35% reduction in air-drag compared to current models." Typed on back: "This design is typical of almost all of the current approaches to streamlining. The advantage of the design, from the manufacturer's viewpoint, is that no essential alteration of the conventional chassis is involved here, and scrapping of large volumes of equipment is avoided. The front end is not greatly modified; the main emphasis is on remodelling of the rear, with new type fenders. Institute of Aero-Dynamic Research, New York."
