View of firefighters driving horse-drawn fire engine down the Woodward Avenue, in recognition of the retirement of Detroit Fire Department horses from service. Spectators stand on sidewalks; commercial buildings in background. Label on back: "Engine #2 horses, 1) Jenny, 2) Tom, Belle Isle, 3) Dick. Driver Ed. McClellan, Capt. Simon Hughes, engineer George Moore. Eng. 38 apparatus. Horses were at Eng. 38 where the horses were at, at the time. McClellan was their regular driver at Eng. 2." Handwritten on back: "Their last run, April 10, 1922. [undecipherable] C.O. operator."
