For use in the afternoon papers of Friday, February 6, 1953. Detroit, February 6. M-47 medium tanks at the Chrysler Detroit Tank Plant are shown being readied for shipment. Every inch of working area is used to produce these tanks in record peacetime volume. Chrysler Corporation originally built and operated this plant for the Ordnance Corps during World War II and from 1940 to 1945 produced large numbers of 12 different tank models on five assembly lines. After the ware the plant was turned back to ordnance until Chrysler Corporation was asked to re-assume its manufacturing and assembly operations in July, 1952."
