Workers manufacturing Manistee automobiles at American Garage & Motor Company garage
Grab
Description
View of workers manufacturing Manistee cars in the garage of the American Garage & Motor Co. Label on back: "From G.E. Brugman. Manufacturing operations at the garage of the American Garage & Motor Co. The chassis in the background is a Manistee car under construction. The car in the foreground appears to be another make being rebuilt although it might have been a different version of the Manistee. As a small boy (1914) I seem to remember the several abandoned old cars in the River & Smith St. factory as being like the one in the foreground. Otto Brugman is the man standing to the right of the seat assembly. The sign 'Morgan & Wright' tires is, I believe, the predecessor of U.S. Rubber Co., Detroit, Mich."
