View of onlookers surrounding Brush car. In 1910, Louis and Temple Abernathy, ages 9 and 6, drove a Brush car from New York to Oklahoma City. They were accompanied by their father, Jack, and other motorists. Banner on car reads: "This car is being driven from New York to Oklahoma City, Okla. by the Abernathy kids, who rode their bronchos from Oklahoma City to New York to meet Roosevelt." Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, telephones 3472-3473 Columbus, 1931 Broadway, New York." Handwritten on back: "Tours--Abernathy Kids New York to Oklahoma Tour, 1910."
