At the world's first race track, Providence, Sept. 1896, they took all prizes for gasoline cars. A three-cylinder Duryea won the first Eagle Rock Hill Climb, Nov. 5, 1901. #540648 granted to Charles E. Duryea June 11, 1895 antedated the first patents of all other U.S. automobile makers.
