View of W.O. Westgard with Flanders electric car at the state line between Kentucky and Tennessee, near Mitchell, Tennessee, during the pathfinding expedition for the 1912 Glidden Tour. The pathfinding tour covered a route from Detroit, Michigan to New Orleans, Louisiana, but the 1912 Glidden Tour was canceled. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, 1231 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich., telephone North 1745." Handwritten on back: "Discovery of Tennessee state line near Mitchell, Tenn., 1912."
