View of Flanders electric car and an overturned fire engine, surrounded by onlookers, at Memphis, Tennessee during the pathfinding expedition for the 1912 Glidden Tour. The pathfinding tour covered a route from Detroit, Michigan to New Orleans, Louisiana, but the 1912 Glidden Tour was canceled. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, 1231 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich., telephone North 1745." Handwritten on back: "Fire engine turning over nearly brought disaster to the Pathfinder, 1912."
