Description
View of men posing with bottles and demijohns in the General Pharmaceutical Dept. of Parke, Davis & Co. Label on back: "Central section of the General Pharmaceutical Department. The large racks in the foreground show the method of filtering through paper by gravity. The neck of the demijohn coming a little below the top of the filterer enables the operator to keep the latter filled with very little attention. The demijohns turned upside down hold the same capacity as the bottle below so that there is no danger of an overflow. On the ceiling shown a large exhaust fan to carry drug dust away from the operators in the Tablet Department above." Stamped on back: "A. Godfrey & Co. Commercial photographers, 41 W. Fort Street, Detroit, Mich."
