General Motors Building
View of the General Motors Building, located on Grand Boulevard. The GM Building was designed by Albert Kahn. Label on back: "The General Motors Building, Detroit, is the home of General Motors. One of the largest office buildings in the world, it has 30 acres of floor space; over 1,000,000 square feet of rentable area; more than 5,000 windows; approximately 2,000 offices and shops, 31 elevators; four restaurants, and many other facilities. A staff of more than 500 men and women is required to maintain the building for its 7,000 tenants, and the 20,000 to 25,000 other people who have business in it every workday."
