Thomas Mott Osborne and motorists posing in a Cole Eight automobile
View of Thomas Mott Osborne and motorists posing in a Cole Eight car in front of the Kahn Tailoring Company in Indianapolis. Typed on back: "Thomas Mott Osborne, former warden of Sing Sing Prison, and one of the foremost prison authorities in the world -- the man who started the honor system at Sing Sing -- when in Indianapolis as one the principal speakers before the recent charities and corrections conference made a tour of the city in a Cole 8. Among other things, Mr. Osborne is an ardent motorist and was most enthusiastic over the wide range of power and possibilities afforded by the Cole 8. It will be remembered that a short time ago Mr. Osborne had charges preferred against him as a result of complaints made by some of the prisoners. Since he has been exonerated. In the connection it is interesting to note that it was while he was in the city that he received word from his attorneys in the east that the men who had registered the complaints against him confessed that they had testified falsely. Mr. Osborne is expected soon to return to Sing Sing and take charge of things again."
