View of the Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Printed on front: "The old fort, Mackinac Island, Mich." Printed on back: "Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island, Mich. The military post was transfered to this point in the winter of 1780-1781; its timbers were brought from the mainland, the stones quarried on the Island, and limekiln used for making the lime can still be seen near Ft. Holmes. The fort was abandoned by the government in 1895 and is now in charge of a superintendent appointed by the Michigan State Park Board. Benjamin's Photo Art Service, Mackinac Island, Mich.
