Typed on back: "No. 3 intake, removed November 1934, contract RC-27. Was constructed in 1890. Westerly, or downstream strainer box, as viewed from its easterly end where it was attached to the tee at outer, or southerly end of 6'-0" diam. intake pipe. Timbers at left mark bottom of strainer box and open side shown here at top, faced toward Belle Isle shore."
