Label on back: "Special study of the values and effects of colors used on Franklin automobiles is being carried out by a recently formed color section of the company's engineering department. W.A. McNabb, formerly of Detroit art studios and more recently with the General Motors Corporation, is in charge of the work which is being done at the Syracuse, N.Y. plant in the studio shown here. Planned first from scientifically exact color data which established the dynamic values an harmonic relations of the colors selected, the complete ensemble is then transferred to large-size drawings for the final engineering test of 'If it looks right, it is right.'"
