View of a 1901 Carver three wheel car. Handwritten on stock: "Carver three wheeler, 1901." Label accompanying photographs: "The Carver 'trimobile.' Contributed by Allen F. Carver, Jr. There are presented two photos of the car during construction and two when completed. Note the clutch cover and larger rear sprocket when completed. The Crest engine used was made by the Crest Manufacturing Co., Cambridgeport, Mass., who also made and sold light four wheel cars. The longest continuous trip made by the Carver three-wheel car was from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Westhampton, Long Island and home again. The trip was made at night so as not to frighten horses."
