Inscribed on base: "Erected to perpetuate the memory of the pioneer lumbermen of Michigan through whose labors was made possible the development of the prairie states." Printed on front: "Lumbermen's Monument on the Au Sable, East Tawas, Mich." Printed on back: "All rights reserved. The L.L. Cook Co., Milwaukee." Handwritten on back: "Am up here for a few days as hay fever was bad in Flint. Will try & see you soon. With love, Frances Tonkin." Card is postmarked August 31, 1942.
