Inscribed on base: "Erected to perpetuate the memory of the pioneer lumbermen of Michigan through whose labors was made possible the development of the prairie states." Printed on front: "Co. 1935, Lumbermen's Memorial, Au Sable River, East Tawas, Mich. Vans photo, no. 109." Handwritten on back: "Dear Folks: Well we are on our vacation having a swell time not so many fish but seeing the sights. Love, Earl & Hazel." Card is postmarked July 14, 1938.
