View of children and motorists in De Dion double-decker buses during the 1909 annual excursion for orphans sponsored by the Orphan's Automobile Day Committee of New York. Children hold "Dreamland" pennants; "Special" signs are displayed on buses. Approximately 1,800 children were taken on a trip to the Dreamland amusement park at Coney Island. Stamped on back: "Spooner & Wells, Inc., photographers, telephones 3472-3473 Columbus, 1931 Broadway, New York." Handwritten on back: "De Dion, N.Y.T. Co. Tours--New York Orphans Day outing, 1909."
