View of a 1900 tandem motorcycle with Duryea engine. Printed on front: "Tandem motor-cycle built in 1900, by the world's champion bicycle rider, Peter J. Berlo of Boston. The 3 cylinder, water-cooled Charles E. Duryea engine was purchased from the Duryea Power Co., Reading, Pa., and after a year's use in the motorcycle, was installed in a car by Mr. Berlo. Later it was used in a 20' launch." Typed on back: "Subject: Motorcycles. Collection: MS3/Charles E. Duryea Collection. Date: 1900. Source: Estate of Charles E. & M. Jerry Duryea. I.D.: Motorcycle powered by Duryea engine. Driven by Peter Berlo, worlds champion bicycle rider. (See correspondence file in Manuscript Collection D & D 23 Oct 1941)."
