Letter of greetings, St. Louis Cycling Club reunion
Letter of greetings and a group portrait from attendees of a reunion party of the St. Louis Cycling Club, held at the residence of Bob Laing in Webster Groves, Missouri. Printed on letter: "L.St.C.C. Ye Old-Time Cyclists Get-to-gether. Webster Groves, Mo., November 27th, 1937. Dear friends: Once again at the command of the Committee the old guard have assembled in Bob Laing's and Gus Loeffel's Rathskeller, to sample of Bob's dago red and chew the cycling fat. Bill Rodgers, with his faithful magic lantern, showed us cycling pictures of the 80's, 90's, and those of the present day. This being the 50th anniversary of the St. Louis Cycling Club, we want each one of the old guard in distant cities to know that we thought of you and each one of us wish you the compliments of the season. [includes signatures of attendees]." Typed on back: "Subject: Bicycles--Cycling Clubs. Collection: MS3/Charles E. Duryea Collection. Date: 27 Nov 1937. Source: Estate of Charles E. & M. Jerry Duryea.
