Women in plant protection force, Hudson Motor Car Company
View of uniformed women in the plant protection force at the Hudson Motor Company factory in Detroit. Label on back: "They're in the Army now. These soldierly looking young women are helping to guard Detroit war production. They have joined the plant protection force of the Hudson Motor Car Company and, like the men guards in all plants working on Army contracts, they have been sworn in as civilian auxiliaries to the military police. Army law entitles them to make arrests for violation of any federal regulations. Only one of the girls stands less than five feet, 10 inches. They posed for the picture in front of one of the huge red, white and blue V's (for victory) that stand in front of Hudson's main office." Handwritten on back: "Women workers."
