Women workers operating drill presses

Description
View of women workers operating drill presses. Label on back: "Picture 76116-K. Drill press fixtures. By redesigning many of our drill press fixtures thereby reducing their weight to 35 lbs or less, we have been able to replace $1.18 per hour skilled male labor with 90 [cents] semi-skilled female labor on approximately 50 drill press machines like those pictured above. This badly needed skilled male labor has been utilized elsewhere and in many instances has been upgraded through use of higher skills. Men in the foreground of the picture are examining one such fixture which has been redesigned and lightened through removal of excess metal. Note other small fixtures on machine." Handwritten on back: "Women workers."
