Manuscript for "Waiting" by John Burroughs.
Text reads: "Waiting. Serene I fold my hands & wait, Nor care for wind nor tide, nor sea; I rave no more 'gainst time or fate, For lo! my own shall come to me. The stars come nightly to the sky, The tidal wave comes to the sea; Nor time nor space, nor deep, nor high, Can keep my own away from me. John Burroughs. Jany [sic] 14, 1906."

Written in ink on one sheet.
Manuscript contains first and last verse of published poem with variant phrasing for second line of final verse. In manuscript, second line of final verse reads "The tidal wave comes to the sea." In published poem, second line of final verse reads "The tidal wave unto the sea."
